Start screen
- From the main screen open CardioTrainer by
clicking on the heart shaped icon.
- The first screen you will be brought to is the
CardioTrainer Start Screen.
- To access your track history or view settings, hit the
Menu button to see the
History and
Settings
icons at the bottom of the screen.
- If you have any problems acquiring a signal, please note that for
CardioTrainer to work effectively, you would need
to use the application outside, have a clear view of the skies with little
physical obstruction. Bad weather, tall buildings and dense vegetation obstruct
GPS reception. Proof of GPS access will result in a green-dot-icon
by the GPS text on the upper
right corner of the Start Screen. If GPS reception is unavailable, a
red icon will appear
.
For more GPS options and troubleshooting, refer to the advanced GPS section below.
Tracking
- Once you are in good clearing and ready for your outdoor activity, hit
Start on the Start Screen
to begin. The time starts counting immediately, and your distance accumulates
if you already obtained a GPS signal. If you do not want to start before
obtaining a GPS signal, simply wait until the GPS indicator in the upper
right corner turns green
.
Depending on satellite reception it may take up to 3 minutes to obtain a GPS
signal after you go outside.
- After starting, your GPS location will be recorded and displayed live on a map.
Your elapsed distance and time are displayed at the top of the screen.
- When you have completed your exercise, hit the pause or back button.
You have a chance to Resume or
End your workout.
Hitting Resume will bring you back to
your current Tracking Screen.
- Upon hitting the End button,
you will arrive at the Workout Complete screen where you can
- View Track - This displays the date, time,
distance and duration of your last exercise.
- Back To Start - This brings you back to
the CardioTrainer start page.
History
- At the CardioTrainer start screen hit the Phone's
Menu button to display the
History and Settings
icons at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the History icon and you will arrive
at the History screen. Here, you can see a list of all your previously recorded
tracks. The number of tracks you can store is limited by your phone's memory only.
- Note: If you see the synchronized icon
(
) on the right
side of the duration of a selected history track, it simply means your
track has already been uploaded to the website. However, if you had chosen
earlier, under your settings not to have your tracks uploaded directly to
the website, your tracks would not have been uploaded to it therefore;
the synchronized sign would not be present on the right side of your duration.
You can manually upload your tracks to the website here by clicking the
Menu button where you have the choice to clear
History or
Send All Tracks (to the website.)
Settings
- Your personal Access Code is displayed at the top of the settings screen.
With the Access Code you can log in at
www.worksmartlabs.com/cardiotrainer and view your workout history.
Keep this code safe from people you do not want to access your tracks.
- Uncheck Send tracks automatically
if you prefer to manually upload your tracks to the website.
Otherwise, leave it checked to have the application automatically
upload your tracks to the website.
- Uncheck Use miles for distance
if you prefer to see your distance calculated in Kilometers.
Otherwise, leave it checked to have your distance calculated in miles.
- Uncheck Show Map if you prefer not
to have the Google maps show underneath your track. Otherwise, leave
it checked to have Google maps show underneath you track. Not showing
Google maps will reduce the amount of data you download.
- Select Advanced GPS Settings and you
will be brought to the Advance GPS Settings screen.
Advanced GPS Settings
- Click on Select Frequency to choose the
length of intervals between GPS point updates. Higher values conserve battery
but cause your track to be less detailed. (A one second
frequency level is recommended for most users.)
- Click on Select Filter level to adjust the GPS
filter level. The Setting 'high' only admits very accurate GPS points to your track,
but it will be harder to obtain a GPS signal. Use a low or no filter if you have
trouble obtaining a GPS signal. (A medium filter
level is recommended for most users.)
- After adjusting Advanced GPS Settings, click the phone's back button to go back to the
Settings Screen. Click the back button again to go to the
Start Screen.
