CardioTrainer v2.1 Released!
We are excited to announce that we have just released CardioTrainer v2.1! Here is an overview of what’s new:
Automatic Crash Recovery
We know how frustrating it is when CardioTrainer closes during a workout. This is a complex issue because sometimes Android simply *has* to close one of the apps if you have many running at once. With this update, CardioTrainer will automatically restore your track if the application is closed by the system, or if your phone turns off while recording a workout (if it’s out of battery, for example). For those of you who saw CardioTrainer crashing because of memory problems, we hope that the fix will help with this problem. This is our first attempt at a complex solution, so we would love to hear how well we did.
Graphical History
We’ve overhauled the the look and feel of the the workout history screen. All of your stats are now arranged for easy comparison, along with a visualization of how many calories were burned in each workout. You can still select and individual workouts to see the map and other statistics. We have also introduced a long click (press and hold) to delete and resend individual tracks. Please let us know how you like it.
New Splash Screen
When you open CardioTrainer after installing the update, you’ll be greeted by our new welcome screen with a quick overview of how to use CardioTrainer and a list of features. You’ll only see this the first time you open the application, and it will hopefully give our first time users a better idea of how to use CardioTrainer. If anything looks incorrect or unclear, please let us know.
We really want to know what you think of these changes, so as always, please share any questions or comments with us.
Happy exercising!

The coolest feature I’d like to see in cardio trainer is the capabilities to set repeated time/distance and have audio/voice advice from the program when to start/stop repeated.

I love the new history screen! The bar graph is great. Keep up the good work.

Sorry to ask this, but will you ever have a program for Windows Mobile? I’ve had the G1 for 9 months and love it–I use CardioTrainer almost daily! But I’ll be switching to the HD2 when it comes out on T-Mobile in a few weeks. I really don’t want to give up your guys’ program–which is WAY better than any others out there that I’ve tried…
Can you please condsider developing something for WM 6.5?? And Windows Phone 7 Series when it comes out? I’d gladly pay $10 for it!

I didn’t know where to make these comments so have put them here. Just a few things I’d like to say about Cardio Trainer.
Firstly I think it’s a really good app, however a few things with the Weight loss section, firstly when I restart it and put in the information about how much I weigh and the how much I want to weigh it wipes clean the information, which is fair enough as it tells me this. However it would be good if it then added in the running or whatever activity you have done previously into your new routine so that you’re not missing out on the work outs you’ve already done.
The ability to change your plan on the fly is a must need as my routine can change every week or so and instead of having to reset my information it would be good just to change one or two sections.
The voice of the guy telling you how far you’ve run etc should be louder, it doesn’t come through my headphones loud enough when i’m running so have no idea what’s being said. It needs to go up massively IMO. It’s not a problem with my headphones either as the music coming through is more than loud enough.
Easier way to stop the app. When I’m on a run and just finished it’s a pain to have to unlock my phone to pause/stop the workout. I actually don’t know if this is a feature already but if the work out would automatically stop or just pause when you unplug the headphones that would work a treat for me.
Keep up the good work.

As far as the upgrade, it’s great that it recovers after a forced close the only bummer is….it only recovered the time. I went on my usual walk this morning, opened CT and started recording my workout. I did my walk and when I got back, I looked at my phone and noticed it force closed. When it recovered, the time was right but it said I only walked .39 of a mile at 1.9mph. I never walk that slow. Anyway, I don’t know if telling you this will help or not. It’s done this a few times and last weekend, I started it (I make sure it’s running) and when I got back to my car, I checked my phone and it was as if I never hit start. That was frustrating.
One last thing…is there a way to update the history? I look at my history and it says I’ve walked 109.25 miles in 5 hours and 42 minutes. I manually added up my times and it’s actually29 hours and 15 minutes.
Thanks for your help!

I love cardio-trainer and it has helped me stay on track, but I would like to be able to have a way to upload photos so I don’t have to type in what I did on stationary bike or incline on treadmill every time I don’t have access or weather to ride or run.
